Cisco, Wren, GE Security, Siemens, Rainbow, deView, Clinton, Digimerge, and Innotech add to their Pixim-powered camera lines
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - November 18, 2009 - Pixim Inc., a leading provider of imaging technology for enterprise security cameras, announced today that major security equipment manufacturers are continuing to adopt Pixim technology in their latest cameras. Manufacturers recently adding new Pixim-powered cameras to their line up include Cisco, GE Security, Siemens Building Technologies, Rainbow, Clinton Electronics, deView, Wren, Digimerge, and Innotech.
The new offerings cover the full spectrum of security cameras including indoor domes, vandal-resistant domes, box type, and ATM cameras available in both IP and combined NTSC/PAL video formats. "The fact that an increasing number of manufacturers are electing to use Pixim's chipsets and our current manufacturers are continuing to add to their existing product line shows that Pixim's Digital Pixel System® technology remains the industry standard for enterprise class, wide dynamic range cameras," says John Monti, vice president of marketing and business development, Pixim.
Pixim's Digital Pixel System technology enables video security cameras to achieve the highest levels of performance, delivering unparalleled image quality, natural color, and lower compression rates across all lighting conditions. In traditional cameras, individual pixels cannot adjust to highlights and lowlights in the same scene. With Digital Pixel System technology, however, each pixel automatically adjusts to produce an optimal exposure for all illumination levels, including very bright areas and dark-shadowed areas simultaneously.
"We are pleased to be expanding our line of cameras based on Pixim's technology," says Thomas Dieregsweiler, product manager, Siemens. "Our newest Pixim offering is a ruggedized dome camera capable of resisting vandal attacks while producing high-quality, actionable images. It's ideal for applications in lobbies, schools, parking garages, and high-risk areas."
"Pixim chips were the right choice for our new IP MiniGlobe cameras," explains Andrew Wren, president of Wren. "We selected the technology because it gives customers the highest-quality images with superior color rendering and the optimal exposure in uncontrolled lighting conditions 24 hours a day - a common problem in our target markets."
Clinton Electronics is introducing multiple cameras using Digital Pixel System technology. "We are especially excited about our new wall and door jamb cameras," says Dan Clinton, vice president of marketing, Clinton Electronics. "Our mounting flexibility combined with Pixim's superior image capture, gives our customers the competitive edge."
deView Electronics is continuing to add additional camera configurations to their Pixim line up. "Our Pixim-powered cameras have continued to see strong demand during the recent economic downturn due to their versatility and consistent image quality in variable lighting," commented Mike Sheehan, president of deView.
Pixim Inc. has developed unique imaging technology that revolutionizes the way video cameras capture and process images. Unlike traditional image capture technologies, where each pixel cannot adjust to highlights and lowlights in the same scene, Pixim's patented Digital Pixel System® technology empowers hundreds of thousands of pixels to act like individual cameras constantly self-adjusting. This all-digital system enables Pixim-powered cameras to efficiently capture the whole picture, regardless of lighting condition or application - thus securing the highest resolution, natural color and clarity, while automatically eliminating image-compromising visual noise (e.g., glare, reflections). The result is more than superb image quality; it is accurate, actionable information that gives users the strength of certainty.
Pixim chipsets are incorporated into over a million of security cameras installed in more than 100 countries worldwide. Visit www.pixim.com/cameras for a complete listing of Pixim-based cameras.
