Digital Watchdog Announces World's Smallest Wide Dynamic Range Dome Camera

With wide dynamic range and true day night, new micro dome handles all light conditions

Tampa, Fla.-May 18, 2009-Production of the world's smallest wide dynamic range security dome camera was announced today by Kaltech Enterprises d.b.a. Digital Watchdog, a leading manufacturer of professional video security solutions featuring high-performance video cameras and digital recording. Weighing less than 8 ounces with a surface area of only 80x42mm, Digital Watchdog's MC355T offers exceptional wide dynamic range and low-light sensitivity for harsh lighting environments. The micro dome incorporates Digital Pixel System® technology developed by Pixim Inc., a leading provider of image sensors and processors for enterprise security cameras.

"The micro dome's small size makes it appealing for any application where a visually attractive yet unobtrusive camera is required," says Wade Thomas, president of Digital Watchdog. "Even more importantly, the camera is powered by a Pixim chipset, an all-digital solution that captures actionable images in any lighting conditions-the most critically important function of any security camera."

This true day night camera automatically adjusts for optimal daytime and nighttime viewing with a movable IR filter switch mechanism. Additional features include ultra low-light sensitivity, high resolution, and onscreen menu display.

"By incorporating Pixim technology into its cameras, Digital Watchdog is able to provide end users with higher-quality, better-value cameras," says John Monti, vice president of marketing and business development for Pixim. "The ultra-wide dynamic range and improved compression possible with Digital Pixel System technology yields the benefit of reducing overall system cost. The video images are more efficiently compressed with lower bit rates and smaller file sizes, which can dramatically reduce the cost of moving and storing video."

The vandal proof MC355T Micro Dome, which will begin shipping in June, is available in chrome, black, or white, and carries Digital Watchdog's 5-year camera warranty.

About Pixim
Pixim Inc. has developed an imaging technology that revolutionizes the way video cameras capture and process images.  Unlike traditional cameras, where each pixel cannot adjust to highlights and lowlights in the same scene, Pixim's patented Digital Pixel System® technology empowers hundreds of thousands of pixels to act like individual cameras constantly self-adjusting.  This all-digital system enables Pixim-powered cameras to efficiently capture the whole picture, regardless of lighting condition or application - thus securing the highest resolution, natural color and clarity, while automatically eliminating image-compromising visual noise (e.g., glare, reflections).  The result is more than superb image quality; it is accurate, actionable information that gives users the strength of certainty.

Pixim chipsets are incorporated into hundreds of thousands of security cameras installed in more than 90 countries worldwide.  Visit www.pixim.com/cameras for a complete listing of Pixim-based cameras.  For general information, visit www.pixim.com or call Pixim's headquarters in Mountain View, Calif., at (650) 605-1118.
