Pixim Digital Pixel System Technology powers the new Vista VIRD dome security camera
Pixim's digital imaging technology enables the Vista dome camera to produce clear, accurate images in all lighting conditions.
Pixim Inc, a leading provider of image sensors and processors for enterprise security cameras, announced that its award-winning Pixim® Digital Pixel System® technology has been incorporated by Vista into the recently introduced VIRD wide dynamic range security camera (product code VIRD3V9DN/WDR).
The
Vista VIRD camera uses Pixim's Digital Pixel System technology to
produce clear, accurate images in all lighting conditions ~ even in
environments where the scene includes both internal and external light
sources. Pixim's technology enables each of its hundreds of thousands
of digital pixels to work as individual, self-adjusting cameras,
thereby accurately capturing highlights and lowlights in the same
scene. Pixim's Digital Pixel System also delivers the highest
resolution and natural color available today, while eliminating noise
and glare.
Andrew Pigram, Vista brand director said:
"The Pixim Orca chipset produces industry-leading images, even in very
high-contrast environments and other difficult lighting conditions.
Incorporating the Pixim technology into the Vista VIRD camera
significantly expands our market opportunity, delivering a solution
that captures crisp, clear images across myriad applications"
The
new Pixim-powered Vista VIRD camera complements the current family of
Vista dome cameras, adding the ability to perform well under variable
and extreme lighting conditions. It is fitted with a Manual White
Balance feature for maintaining correct color balance and, because it
is a true day/night camera, it ensures that correct, high-quality color
images are produced during the day and monochrome images at night.
In
addition to the Pixim-provided imaging capabilities, the Vista VIRD
dome offers distinct advantages for camera installers and end-users
alike, including a vari-focal lens; sturdy toughened polycarbonate
casing that resists impact, corrosion and weather; fine-adjustment
three-axis gimble for mounting on either a ceiling or wall; a removable
strip that allows installers to use the same dome in both a flush- or
surface-mounted application; easy, menu-driven set-up and control of
advanced as well as basic features; and 12V/24V flexible operation that
is suitable for use in all low-voltage applications.
John Monti, vice president of marketing and business development, Pixim said:
"Vista is the UK's best-selling brand of CCTV equipment, and their
choice of our Digital Pixel System technology demonstrates their
commitment to providing their customers with the best-quality video
images for a wide range of security applications. With the majority of
applications today reporting variable lighting conditions, we know that
this new Pixim-powered Vista VIRD camera will be appreciated wherever
highest-quality images are valued by security professionals"
