A popular chipset helped Pixim win the Silver Excellence Award for
technical innovation and market influence at the China Public Security
Exhibition (CPSE) in Shenzhen, China.
The American firm, which was also recognised for its camera reference
designs, scooped the award at an opening ceremony on the first day of
the exhibition.
John Monti, Pixim’s vice president of marketing and business
development, said, "In addition to noting the technical achievements of
our Orca chipset and camera reference designs, the award also
recognises the widespread market adoption of our chipset that has set
the standard for image quality".
Pixim’s chipsets are said to be the first digital image sensor solutions tailored specifically for the video security industry.
The company claims cameras using the chipsets will be able to achieve a
wide dynamic range, high total resolution, superior colour rendering
and high image compression.
Currently Pixim chipsets are used in over 100 security camera models sold around the world.
