Genie has released a new Pixim-powered WDR slim dome camera, the DSF120PX.
The company says it “offers a number of key advantages to the installer”. It features Pixim's Digital Pixel System technology that allows individual pixel sampling to determine optimum exposure in all areas of the image.
This is designed to provide a balanced exposure of both bright and dark areas in the same scene, making the cameras suitable for tough backlight problems.
Genie marketing manager Binit Shah said: "Pixim's Digital Pixel System technology offers the widest dynamic range available, enabling Genie cameras to produce excellent image quality and colour rendering, regardless of the lighting conditions where the camera is located.
“The slim dome has been specially designed for demanding retail applications where facial and object recognition is necessary in a variety of light conditions such as doorways, windows, shadows and outdoors with strong light reflections.”
Other features of the new dome include a tool-free three-axis gimbal mechanism for mounting the dome on a wall, ceiling or on a slope, a 3.3-12mm DC auto iris varifocal lens, OSD menu, digital slow shutter, privacy masking for up to six zones and RS485 communication.
