Pixim Chipsets Take Top 4 of 5 Best Wide Dynamic Range Surveillance Cameras
Pixim Chipsets Are Key Ingredient in Surveillance Cameras Delivering the Best Wide Dynamic Range
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.—Feb. 21, 2007—In recent test results
published by Protector Magazine, the leading physical security
publication in Germany, surveillance camera entries with Pixim chipsets
claimed four of the top five rankings for best wide-dynamic range
security cameras, out of a total of sixteen cameras tested.
Dallmeier, Honeywell, JVC, and Verint cameras, all enabled with Pixim's
award-winning chipsets with Digital Pixel System® (DPS) technology,
were ranked at the top of the wide dynamic range scale in the
competition. Each of the four cameras are differentiated with unique
feature sets, but the overriding factor in determining excellence of
wide dynamic range image quality is the Pixim chipset integrated into
each product offering.
Pixim's DPS image sensor converts light to a digital signal at each
pixel, enabling each pixel to have independent, optimized exposure
times to deliver the highest image quality and color accuracy. DPS
technology's image consistency and accuracy is known for overcoming
typical impediments of existing analog CCD sensors, which have trouble
producing positive subject identification caused by image blooming and
smear, as well as limited color fidelity.
According to Protector Magazine the Dallmeier DF3000A-DN is noted for
the "...sharpness of its images with exceptionally convincing color
rendering, color intensity and outline of details." Honeywell
Security's HCCWD484X stood out for its "...ability to handle side
lighting, as the image remains very good, where the color rendering is
perfect even in the dark part of the image." JVC's TK-WD310-e(B) front
lit images impressed judges, "...with dark and bright areas perfectly
reproduced." Verint's S2600e delivered "...a harmonious picture
impression, and a good sharpness, where the white balance is accurate
and the color rendering neat."
Frost & Sullivan recently named Pixim, Inc. as the recipient of the
2006 Technology Innovation & Leadership of the Year Award in the
field of video surveillance technology in recognition of its
development of the Orca chipset.
